The most important part of maintaining your oral health is conscientious personal oral hygiene and regular maintenance visits to our office. We are happy to partner with you in keeping your mouth healthy.

Brushing and Flossing

How to Brush How to Floss

Brushing and flossing removes food particles and helps prevent the buildup of bacteria on and around your teeth. This plaque will otherwise accumulate and harden into a thick calculus, eventually causing tooth decay and bone loss below the gum.

Some tips for maintaining your oral health are:

  • Brush twice daily with fluoridated toothpaste, ideally after each meal.
  • Floss at least once a day.
  • Limit snacking in between meals and minimize the amount of processed sugars you consume.
  • Avoid all sugary drinks, particularly energy drinks and sodas.

Regular Office Visits

Regular visits allow us to diagnose problems early, monitor any areas of concern, and remove plaque and calculus that has built up over time. Dr. Lee will also assess the health of the gums and other tissues in your mouth. It is important to understand that decay, if detected early, is much easier to restore and results in the preservation of more healthy tooth structure than if the decay is allowed to progress. Generally, when a tooth becomes sensitive or painful, the disease process is well past the early detection stage.

In addition, each person has individual needs or concerns. Your dental cleanings are an opportunity for you to discuss these with us.
